Tried the No.1 highly recommended Pork Katsu Curry Don!, this is their signature dish. Love the curry sauce. The first taste is just wonderful. Very flavorful japanese curry taste. Salty enough. The fried pork katsu is crispy, tender inside. Not the best pork katsu, but still good nevertheless.

About 5 mins into the meal, because, as you can see, the curry sauce was drizzled onto the pork katsu when the dish was presented, all the crispyness was gone! And the saltiness of the curry overwhelmed everything, all taste became the curry sauce taste, the rice, the salad, the pork katsu! And yes, the salad was cabbage!… Tasteless on it’s own, good to eat with the curry.

Well, they could have served the curry separately. It’s always good to separate the sauce and the crispy fried food, and to allow the customers to dip or drizzle the sauce themselves. This will not only facilitate the customers’ preference, it also prolong the crispiness of the fried food. Just my 2cents.

Overall, worth a try! At this moment, I think they only have 2 outlets, namely at ION Orchard & 313@Somerset. Thank you! Enjoy…!

First Wendy’s Singapore Branch @ Lau Pa Sat

A short food review from me on Wendy’s. This outlet located @ Singapore Lau Pa Sat is about 3 months plus old at the time of my visit. I ordered Spicy Chicken Sandwich Set.

First off, the sandwich taste good, well, good enough for fast food standard. Take a closer look at the chicken portion of this burger. I would compare it to Mac’s McSpicy and KFC’s Zinger. Personally, I prefer Zinger’s. At second place would be Wendy’s Spicy. Last place goes to McSpicy (too bad for Mac…). It’s all about the taste, I agree the sandwich taste good, but it’s just not good enough to the extend that I would make a dedicated trip there, just to have a bite, it’s just like any other fast food rest. on the market. Some hc fanboys might.

French Fries, Wendy’s fries suck balls! Excuse me… “THE” worst fast food fries I have ever tried. The fries’ outer layer is not crispy. The inner content doesn’t have an potato aroma that you usually get from Mac’s fries. Further more, it taste quite tough, just taste blend. Burger King’s fries were one of the worst tasting, Wendy’s beats it by a mile. Am I too harsh? Well, maybe, go try it yourself. Maybe the batch I had is just sh*t. So the best French fries is from Mac (happy now?).

Soft drinks don’t need to compare right? Taste like coke.

This coke float is not mine. Go figure.

Last note, got some feedbacks that their old fashioned burgers taste great, try 3/4 lb. Triple with Cheese burger, beef. Thank you! Enjoy!
